Responses from the annual survey are in and they have been overwhelmingly positive. We are glad that we are able to provide a program that so significantly meets the community’s needs.

There were a few issues that some of you are having, however, and we would like to address those here.

The first has to do with serial and monographic records. Many of you wonder why so many serial records are received as monograph records. Unfortunately, this has nothing to do with the CRDP, but with a move we are making from a legacy system which requires some clean up of records. Unfortunately, this process will take some time.

The second issue has to do with the Historical Shelflist. Many of you elected to receive these records, and then realized that the number of records makes the workload unwieldy. You can contact MARCIVE to change your profile to receive only those historical records you want, or to stop receiving these records altogether.

Finally, there were some issues regarding the frequency of loads. Monthly loads are the standard, and it is what we chose to do when starting the program. Changing this frequency would create more burden than it would relieve. We invite libraries to share how they handle this and other issues in the Community Forum. We would like to learn from you how to make this program even better.
