Senator Robert C. Byrd was known for his extensive knowledge of the history of the Senate. A couple of his publications on the Senate can be found in the Congressional Serial Set:

The Senate, 1789-1989 (Serial 13723-13726; S. doc. 100-20)

The Senate of the Roman Republic :  addresses on the history of Roman constitutionalism (Serial 14209; S. doc. 103-23)

Thanks for doing this, Gwen - Senator Byrd and the Gov Doc Kids Group
written by tadamich, July 13, 2010
I hope people will examine what Sen. Byrd contributed rhetorically to U.S history.
The Gov Doc Kids Group pays its respects to Senator Robert C. Byrd (D- WV) whose 2004 legislation to create Constitution Day led to the founding of the Gov Doc Kids Group.
May Senator Byrd’s memory endure…
Thanks again, Gwen.
